Planning our Next ACAR

Care Assess is planning its next application for the Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR), which will open this month. We’re busy now, but it’s about to get even busier at Care Assess.

This Round will continue to expand the Home Care Packages program, which provides individually tailored packaged of home care services to help older Tasmanians remain living independently in their own home.

Care Assess has learned a tremendous amount over the last year since the last ACAR, in which we expanded to provide home care package programs in all three regions of Tasmania.

This year we hope to take another step forward in reviewing that learning, development and progress, and seeking to refine and improve upon everything we’ve implemented in the last year.

It will be a busy time, but we enjoy the intensity because we know that the tender process itself helps to bring out the best in us and from us.

Please contact us to provide input and feedback on any area that can help us in our planning. In particular, we are asking the following questions and would love to hear what you think:

• Your views on the need for aged care in your community, specifically in relation to both low and high care levels of home care packages

• Which areas are most in need of which packages, and your views on the need for aged care in your community specifically in relation to these areas in Tasmania

• Which special needs groups are most in need of which packages, and your views on the need for aged care in your community specifically in relation to these special needs groups

• Other key issues, including for example people with dementia and the need for respite care

• Any other comments you have to help us with our planning!
